Text

Counting, cleaning, casing and comparing text.

Tools that treat text as material: measure it, rewrite it, or make something out of it you can paste somewhere else. Nothing is uploaded — every transform runs on the string in the box, in your tab, which is what makes the notepad safe to think in.

Measure it, change it, or decorate it

The counting tools leave your text alone. Word counter, character counter, reading time and the YouTube title checker exist to tell you whether it fits — a bio limit, a meta description, a read time on a page. The transforms rewrite it: case converter, text cleaner, find and replace, remove line breaks, the sorter, the reverser, the repeater and the line numberer. Those are what you reach for when something arrived out of a PDF or a spreadsheet with the old formatting still attached to it.

Then there is the Unicode shelf — fancy text, small caps, glitch text, symbols, emoji and kaomoji — which produces characters that survive a paste into a profile field that will not let you choose a font. Morse, binary and the Caesar and Vigenère ciphers are translations of the same kind. The name and random word generators sit here rather than under Random, because what comes back is a word you will use rather than a draw you will act on. Code formatting, slugs and JSON belong to Developer.
