How to use the faq schema generator

1 Fill in the fields. Empty ones are left out rather than emitted blank.

2 Keep the script-tag wrapper on unless you are inserting the JSON somewhere that adds it.

3 Paste it into your page and check it with Google’s Rich Results Test before relying on it.

The rule that catches people is that the FAQ markup must match what is visible on the page. Marking up questions that a visitor cannot see is a policy violation and Google will ignore the markup or issue a manual action — this is not a place to add extra keywords. Worth knowing that FAQ rich results were dramatically reduced in 2023 and now show mainly for government and health sites, so the realistic benefit for a commercial page is small. The markup is still worth adding for the sake of other consumers of structured data, but not on the expectation of an FAQ dropdown in the results.
