Business day calculator
Public holidays differ by country, by region within a country, and by year — England and Scotland do not share a full set, and several move with Easter. Any tool that assumed a calendar would be wrong for most of its visitors, so this one counts weekdays exactly and lets you deduct the holidays that actually apply where you are.
Business days are Monday to Friday, counting both end dates. A full week from Monday to Friday is five; Monday to the following Friday is ten. Public holidays are deducted separately because they differ by country and region.
How to count business days
Working weeks are not universal. The Monday-to-Friday assumption holds across most of Europe and the Americas, but several Middle Eastern countries run Sunday to Thursday, and some organisations work a four-day or six-day week. This tool assumes the Saturday-Sunday weekend; if yours differs, the weekday count is the figure to adjust rather than the total.
Questions
Count the weekdays inclusive of both ends, then deduct public holidays.
