Two things eat the budget without looking like they do. Line breaks are characters, so the tidy four-line bio people like costs four of the 150 before any words. And emoji are usually more than one character in Instagram’s reckoning even though they look like one — this counter treats an emoji as a single character, so if the app rejects something this says fits, an emoji is the likely culprit. Worth knowing separately: only the link field is clickable, and a URL typed into the bio text is plain text that spends characters and does nothing.
