Gives three hues 120 degrees apart. A triad is vivid and balanced, and it needs one colour to dominate or it reads as chaos.
How to use the triadic palette generator
Even spacing is what makes a triad feel balanced and also what makes it loud: three equally distant, equally saturated hues have no hierarchy at all, so the eye has nowhere to settle. The working convention is one dominant, one supporting and one accent — the ratios matter far more than the hue selection. Triads are common in brands aimed at children and at play for exactly this reason: the balance reads as energetic. For an interface it is usually too much unless two of the three are heavily desaturated.
