Each of the twenty-six letters has exactly a one in twenty-six chance. Draw one, or draw a handful at once for a game, a prompt or a naming scheme.
How to draw random letters
Even weighting is the thing to be aware of, because it is not how letters behave in English. In ordinary text E accounts for about twelve percent of letters and Z for about a tenth of one percent — E is over a hundred times more likely. That matters if you are using this to generate something that should look like a word, where an even draw produces unpronounceable strings. For a game of Scattergories, a drawing prompt or picking a category at random, even weighting is exactly what you want.
Questions
Yes, one in twenty-six each. That is deliberately unlike English text, where E is far more common than Z.
