How to pick a name
1 Paste or type your names, one per line.
2 Choose how many to pick at once, and whether picked names come out of the hat.
3 Press the button. The pause is theatre; the choice is made at the end of it.
This is the plain-list version of the wheel: the same fairness, without the animation, and faster to run repeatedly. It suits a classroom register or a standup rota, where you are picking every day and do not want to watch a wheel each time.

Yes. Each pick uses your browser's random number generator over the names still in the list. No name is favoured and no result is pre-decided.
