A server banner is 960 × 540 and a profile banner 680 × 240 — different placements with different requirements. Both are gated: server banners need boost level 2, profile banners need Nitro.

How to use the discord banner size

Discord is unusual in that the size is rarely the obstacle — the unlock is. A server banner only appears once the server reaches boost level 2, and an animated one needs level 3; a personal profile banner requires Nitro. It is worth checking which you have before designing anything. The other quirk is the icon: Discord masks server icons and avatars to a circle, so a square logo loses its corners entirely. Design the icon inside a circle inscribed in the square, and keep anything critical away from the corners.
